[Invitation] Dian Tchobanov, Bulgaria

Maestro Dian Tchobanov is General Music Director of State Opera Plovdiv since season 2013 /2014.
Since 2021 Maestro Tchobanov is a chief conductor of the Serbian National Theatres in Belgrade.

He earned his master´s degree at the State Musical Academy (Sofia) and at the University of Performing Arts and Music Vienna in the class of Prof. Uroš Lajović. The personality of the conductor has been influenced by Sir Colin Davies, Dresden and Maestro Fabio Luisi in Vienna. Mo. Tchobanov has been awarded with Second and the Special award of "Lovro von Matačić", International Conductors Competition Zagreb in 2003. 


Special Prize of Austro-Hungarian conductors competition in Budapest 1998 Dian Tchobanov becomes Prize “Plovdiv” 2014 – the most prestigious prize in the field if Music in his home city. Since 2009 Maestro Tchobanov is a resident conductor of the Croatia National Opera in Zagreb. He has been as well Chief conductor of the Croatia Chamber Orchestra (2012 – 2014); Resident conductor of Vienna Schloss Schönbrunn Orchestra (2004 - 2012).

 

 

Dian Tchobanov has been First conductor of the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra (2004 – 2010) and a Chief conductor of State Opera – Stara Zagora (2007 – 2012). Since season 2020/21 Mo. Tchobanov is a principal guest conductor in the Serbian National Opera in Novi Sad He has conducted: Radio Symphony Orchestra -Vienna; Orchestra of “Arena di Verona”; Radio Symphony Orchestra -Praha, Budapest Festival Orchestra; Dohnanyi Orchestra Budapest; Concert Orchestra Budapest; Philharmonie Baden-Baden; Schönbrunner Chamber Orchestra, Vienna; RSO-Sofia, National Opera and Ballet, Sofia; National Theatre Belgrade; National theater Novi Sad; Ensemble “Cantus”, Zagreb; B-A-C-H Chamber Orchestra Yekaterinburg, Russia; „Oltenia“ Philharmonic, Craiova, Rumania; Brasov Philharmonic, Rumania; Macedonian opera and ballet, Skopje; Macedonian Philharmonic, Skopje; Orchestra Filarmonica della Calabria; Orchestra Sinfonica Abruzzese; Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana, Palermo; Orchestra Metropolitana Bari; Astana Opera, Kazakhstan; Albanian National Opera, Tirana; Symphony Orchestra Curitiba, Brazil and many other.

Maestro Tchobanov gives a master classes in conducting in the Columbia University, SC. (USA) in 2010 and in Gustav Mahler Conservatory, Vienna in 2012. Since 2006 he is faculty for orchestral conducting at the Varna International Conducting Workshops (USA). In 2021 he was awarded the scientific title of "Doctor" in the field of art  Dian Tchobanov works on the stages of big European cities suchas Vienna, Budapest, Verona, Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Meiningen, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Prague, Zagreb, Porto, Palermo, Skopje; also in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, in the USA, Brazil and China.

 

He was a member in the jury of International conductors competitions:  -6th "Lovro von Matačić" International Conductors Competition, Zagreb 2015;  -2nd "Antal Dorati" International Conductors Competition, Budapest 2018;  -1st “Almaty International Conductors Competition" Kazakhstan 2019:
