Fuad Šetić is a Bosnian conductor and collaborative pianist

Fuad Šetić (Schweinfurt, 1995) is a Bosnian conductor and collaborative pianist. He has been active since 2014. He completed his undergraduate and graduate studies in Orchestral Conducting at the Academy of Music, University of Sarajevo, where he was awarded two Golden Badge Awards and the Dean's Award for exceptional study results. He completed his Master’s degree in Music Business Management in 2020 at the University of Westminster (London), where he was a Chevening scholar.

 

As a choir singer, orchestral player, accordion soloist, collaborative pianist and a conductor, he has performed in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, Montenegro, Turkey, Belgium and Austria. He appeared in the programme of the festivals such as Sonemus FEST, Sarajevo Winter, May Music Festivities, Festival of Classical Music Orpheus, Gathering of Slovenian Choirs in Šentvid, International Festival of the Ivan Cankar Association in Vrhnika, Zenica Spring, etc.

 

As a conductor he worked with Mixed Choir Camerata Slovenica, Mixed Choir Davorin Jenko, Female Choir Slovenčice, Kovači Sound Smiths International Children’s Choir, Chamber Mixed Choir Lola, Cantabile Youth Choir, and collaborated with orchestras such as the Belg’harmonika Accordion Orchestra, The Orchestra of the Academy of Music in Sarajevo, the Mostar Sinfonietta Orchestra, the Zenica Chamber Symphony Orchestra, and the Sarajevo Philharmonic. In July 2020, he was appointed as the Jury member the International Orchestra Auditions Awards.

 

He is interested in interdisciplinary art projects that focus on the new role of art in contemporary society, as well as in creating working spaces for young professional musicians. He is a member of INSAM Institute for Contemporary Artistic Music (Bosnia and Herzegovina) and Giuseppe Verdi Musical Society in Guadalajara (Mexico). Since November 2020, he is the artistic director of “Orfej” Classical Music Festival.

 

He lives in Sarajevo, where he works as a Collaborative Pianist with the Department of Conducting at the Academy of Music, University of Sarajevo.
