[Invitation ] Valery Voronin, Russia

Valery Voronin is a Russian conductor, who made a significant contribution to the development of Russian theatrical art, artistic director and chief conductor of the Astrakhan State Theater of Opera and Ballet.

 

46 performances were staged on the big and small stages of the theater under the artistic direction of Valery Voronin,  including: “Naiad and Fisherman” by C. Pugni (2013); "The Queen of Spades" by P. Tchaikovsky (2013), “Waltz of the White Orchids” to the music of M. Ravel based on the works by E.M. Remark; “Romeo and Juliet”; "The Nutcracker"; "Eugene Onegin" “Othello” by G. Verdi; “Don Quixote” by L. Minkus (2014); “Carmina Burana” by Carl Orff; composition by S. Dyagilev “Piaf. I do not regret anything” (2015); “Pagliacci” by R. Leoncavallo ( 2015); “The Damnation of Faust” by G. Berlioz; “Iolanta”; “La Traviata”; “Tosca” by G. Puccini; "Giselle" by A. Adan; "The Tsar's Bride" by N. Rimsky - Korsakov, "Il Trovatore" by G. Verdi and others which have received high praise and always enjoy the interest of the audience.

 

At the initiative of V.Voronin the project “Russian Operas in the Astrakhan Kremlin” becomes traditional. In 2012, the folk music drama “Boris Godunov” by M. Mussorgsky was presented. The performance became the winner of the All-Russian professional award "The Verges of the Theater of Masses" in the nomination "The best theater in the open air." In 2014, the epic opera “Prince Igor” by A. Borodin was staged, in 2016 - the liturgical opera by N. Rimsky-Korsakov "The Legend of the Invisible City of Kitezh and the Maiden Fevronia", which also became the winner of the All-Russian professional award "The Verges of the Theater of Masses" in the nomination "The best theater in the open air".

 

The symphony orchestra of the theater under the direction of Valery Voronin implemented a large-scale project “The Entire Beethoven” the program of which included all symphonic works by L. Beethoven. Valery Voronin leads an active concert activity, being a guest conductor of the Astana Opera (Republic of Kazakhstan), the National Symphony Orchestra of the Republic of Bashkortostan, the St. Petersburg State Academic Symphony Orchestra, the Symphony Orchestra of the Krasnoyarsk State Opera and Ballet Theater named after D. Hvorostovsky, symphonic orchestra "Della Callabria" (Italian Republic).

 

In 2017, at the invitation of the administrations of the two largest opera houses of the People’s Republic of China - “Taijin” (Beijing) and “Harbin” (Harbin) V. Voronin participated in the international opera festival named after G. Puccini, where together with the troupe of the Parma Royal Opera took place several performances of the opera “La Bohem” by G. Puccini. In 2018, he took part in the Mediterranean Festival (Lamezia Terme, Italian Republic) performing “Requiem” by V. Mozart and in the festival “Mythos opera” (Taormina, Italian Republic), conducting the opera “Tosca” by G. Puccini.

 

 
Valery Voronin was nominated for the Russian National Theater Award "Golden Mask" in the nomination "The Best Work of a Conductor" with performances: "Madame Butterfly" by G. Puccini (2011), "The Queen of Spades" by P. Tchaikovsky (2012), "Eugene Onegin" by P. Tchaikovsky (2014), “The Damnation of Faust” by G. Berlioz (2016).

Under the artistic direction of V.Voronin the theater actively tours in 40 cities of Great Britain (2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018), Germany (2014), China (2017, 2018, 2019), the Republic of Azerbaijan (2013), Krasnoyarsk (2017,2019), Moscow (2018), e.t.c.

 

 

In December 2019 he was invited to Musikverein to conduct Christmath concert. The program was included Symphony 4 (G.Mahler) and perfomances by P.Tchaikovsky and D.Schostakovitch.The February 2020 has brought the new cultural collaboration with Poland. Maestro Voronin conducted Symphony № 3 by S.Rachmaninov and vocal duets from the russians and europeans operas.

 

Activity of V.Voronin was awarded by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation for his great contribution to the development of culture, many years of fruitful work (2016), the medal of the order “For Services to the Russia” (2016) and the diploma of the Governor of the Astrakhan Region for the great contribution to the social and economic development of the Astrakhan Region and successes achieved in professional activity , The Certificate of honor of the Ministry of Culture of Russian Federation for many years of diligent work.
