[Invitation] Marco Buccolo, Italy

Marco Buccolo, from Italy, began his musical studies as a pianist, and at the age of 18 switched to conducting and composing classes in the «Giuseppe Verdi» Turin State Music Conservatory, where he graduated in composing, choral conducting and orchestra conducting. He also earned the highest italian postgraduate degree in orchestra conducting (Summa cum Laude), and a graduate degree in Music History and Art & Literature (Summa cum Laude) at the Turin State University.

 

He was encouraged in this path by Marcello Viotti, with whom he frequently attended rehearsals of symphonic and opera productions (RAI Italian State Broadcasting Service, La Fenice Venice, La Scala Milan, Teatro Regio Turin, Saarbrucken Rundfunk, OFT Turin Philharmonic Orchestra).

 

Later he attended masterclasses under Dejan Pavlov (Bulgaria), Alexander Polyanichko (Russia), Kenneth Kiesler (USA), Marco Zuccarini (Italy), Donato Renzetti (aud, Italy) and Daniele Gatti (aud. Italy).

 

In addition to conducting, Marco has a great deal of experience in teaching, and he is frequently invited in Italy, Germany and China for lessons and masterclasses with youth orchestras and conductors.

 

 

As musicologist, he worked in the Garzanti Music Encyclopaedia editorial staff, for international festivals (Salone Internazionale del Libro, Salone della Musica, Musica 2000, Settembre Musica MiTo) and is also a Vatican Radio contributor for Music programs. He has been appointed as Music Supervisor of Alba Diocesan Museum and Alba Diocesan Office for Art and Culture. He holds the chair of Music Theory, Analysis and Semiotics in Isoinsieme Musictherapy Master School.
