[Invitation] Maksim Konarev, Russia

Maksim Konarev – conductor, laureate of international competitions, associate professor.

 Graduate of the Novosibirsk Special Music School, Novosibirsk State Music Academy (prof. A.Lyudmilin), in 2007 he entered the postgraduate course of the St. Petersburg Conservatory (prof. A.Polishchuk).

 

 M.Konarev completed an internship at the National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater in Kiev. Participated in master classes by V.Yampolsky (USA), I.Ziffert (Switzerland), M.Gorenstein (Russia).  Laureate of international competitions: St. Petersburg (2001, 2010), Montese (Italy, 2004).  Awarded a scholarship (named after I.Zak) of the Governor Novosibirsk region.

 

 

2007-2013 work as artistic director and conductor of the symphony Orchestra of the Novosibirsk State Music Academy.  The orchestra became a laureate of an international competition, Tours to Kemerovo, Barnaul, Tomsk were organized.  In 2007, 2010, 2013 orchestra accompanied at international violin competitions chaired by Z.Bron. Since 2012 M.Konarev is an associate professor of the department of conducting.

 In 2014 he moved to Moscow, work as a conductor of the MGSO for children and youth.  How Guest conductor since 2006 collaborates with orchestras Khabarovsk philharmonic, Tomsk philharmonic , Kemerovo philharmonic, Pskov philharmonic, Astrakhan philharmonic, performs at concert venues Kamchatka, Barnaul, Novosibirsk, St. Petersburg and Moscow.  In 2015, 2017 invited to conduct concerts and conducting master classes at Millersville University in Pennsylvania (USA).

 

 In 2019 he took part in international festivals in Moscow and Astrakhan: programs M.Mussorgsky «Pictures at an Exhibition», G.F.Handel oratorio «Messiah» (O.Petrova, S.Kuzmin, Y. L.Paklyanova, D.Sharmanov).  In 2020, with the St.Petersburg State Symphony Orchestra presented premiere of N.Kapustin's violin concerto (soloist Graf Murzha).

 

 The first works in the opera genre were the semi-stage version of the oratorio-opera I.Stravinsky «King Oedipus» at the Novosibirsk State Music Academy. (2006) and «West Side History» L.Bernstein in the Novosibirsk theater «Globus» (2008).  Worked as a conductor Ryazan Musical Theater, collaborated with the St. Petersburg Chamber Opera, Theater of the St. Petersburg Conservatory, «Tsaritsyno Opera» in Volgograd, Romanian National Opera and Ballet Theater.  In 2018 staging of the opera by G.Bizet «Carmen» in 1ed.  Des Moines (USA).

 As a jury member, he was invited to international competitions and festivals: Krasnoyarsk, Novosibirsk, Nizhnekamsk, Perm, Saratov. During his creative activity he was awarded with letters of thanks Ministry of Culture of the Khabarovsk Region, the Novosibirsk Region, the Altai Region.

 Currently, Maksim  Konarev lives and works in Moscow.
