[Invitaion] Kenichi Sato, japan

In 1952, Kenichi was born in Hachinohe, Aomori.  He obtained his Bachelor's of Arts in Education at Hirosaki University.  He studied conducting with Hiromi  Adachi and Tatehusa  Sasamori, trumpet with Yutaka Tobe, composition with Ken Abo, and voice with Sachiko Nagazaka.  During his time at Minato Junior High School (1978-1988), he led his band to the national-level of All Japan Band Competition eight times.  

 

In 1980 and 1981, he received the Excellent Educator Award.  He was awarded the Daily Tohoku News Award in 1987. Between 1988 and 1994, his Daini Junior High School band took the gold prize at Tohoku regional-level competition over six consecutive years.  He has conducted Nishi High School band since 2015, and a city community band, Hachinohe Wind Ensemble since 2016.

 

Hachinohe Wind Ensemble, founded in 1979, is an adult community band.  The band performs at a variety of local events and competitions.
